After obtaining a degree in Graphic Design I worked in book and magazine publishing as a designer from 1975-1981. I then began working freelance as a photographic stylist, selecting props for editorial and advertising photography. Much of this work was for cookery books and magazines such as Country Living and Good Housekeeping.
In 1987, after moving to the country, I started producing decorative paint finishes for homes, on furniture and for many photographic props and backgrounds.
In 1996 I decided to concentrate entirely on my main passion ñ still life painting. Worked in acrylics with a great emphasis on colour, texture and composition, the paintings are much inspired by my past career as a designer and stylist and my love of antique china, domestic items and fabrics. These, usually along with fruit and vegetables are painted faithfully, creating a sensuous and classic still life feel. Textures, shapes and colours are harmoniously combined to elevate the mere domestic to iconic status.
I have exhibited widely in the UK and abroad, including The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The Albemarle Gallery, London, and all the major art fairs. My painting 'Still Life with Red Box and Cricket Ball' was awarded first prize by International Artist Magazine.
